Cursed More Than Blessed

Cassandra was the daughter of King Priam and Queen Hecuba of Troy and the twin sister of Helenus. Her brown hair  had been kept in curls and she brown eyes and fair skin.  She was very beautiful, intelligent, charming, desirable, elegant, friendly, and gentle, but she was considered to be insane. Cassandra was described as “the second most beautiful woman in the world” and her beauty was even compared to that of Aphrodite and Helen of Troy. Apollo ended up falling in love with her and he gave her many gifts including the gift of prophecy, but when she rejected him and scorned his love for her he turned this gift into a curse. She would be able to see the future and be correct in her predictions, but nobody would ever believe a word she said. This Trojan princess foresaw the events of the Trojan War where at the end of it she was abducted and brutally raped by Ajax the Lesser when she sought refuge in the temple of Athena. She was taken as a concubine by King Agamemnon of Mycenae and she was murdered along with him and their twin sons Pelops and Teledamus by his wife Clytemnestra and her lover Aegisthus shortly after their arrival in Mycenae.

A Contemplation Of Who I Am

Who am I?

An Introduction

Hi! My name is Katelyn Marie Abbott and my nicknames are Kate and Katie. I am twenty-two years old. I have brown hair and blue eyes and I wear glasses. I consider my favorite animal to be a dog (although I also like cats), my favorite color to be blue, my favorite drink to be Coke (although I also like Fanta), my favorite foods to be big pickles, cheeseburgers, hot wings, pizza, Subway sandwiches, and tacos, my favorite flowers to be blue roses, and my favorite gemstone to be opal. I disliked being touched. I enjoy beadwork, collecting bags, postcards, and stuffed animals, drawing, eating, figuring out brain teasers, crossword puzzles, and word searches, Greek and Roman Mythology, history, internet surfing, listening to music, reading books and writing stories, shopping, watching TV, and yoga. I am a college student majoring in journalism and I happen to be halfway through my sophmore year of college. My goal is to be able to graduate from college and become an author in the future.

I have started this blog to share my thoughts with other people and to have a place to have other people take a look at the stories I write. This is my first blog. I look forward to making more blogs in the future.
